Before I left for Japan, I came across a list of the different Kit Kat flavours in Japan. Now, I knew Kit Kats were a big thing there, but I never knew it was this big and there are some wacky flavours in there. So I thought it would be fun to see how many different flavours of Kit Kat I could get while I was there. Turns out, not that many. In addition to the normal and dark chocolate Kit Kats, I managed to only find 3 interesting flavours 😦 I pretty much walked into every single convenience store I saw but still, huge disappointment. Nonetheless, I am very happy with the ones the I did find (although I really wanted to try the baked Kit Kats!).
The Strawberry Cheesecake flavour is from Yokohama. It is very creamy, and short on the strawberry but with a hint of roastedness (I know it’s not a word, but bear with me). I really liked the packaging, the box is made of sturdy material and has a textured cover, definitely something that will make a good gift.
This, I found at the airport and I had to buy a huge box of it which cost me S$15 -_- There is the fragrance of matcha present in the chocolate snack, but I don’t really get the Sakura bit though, it’s not even pink! Probably my least favourite of the 3.
As with all things, I saved the best for last. I really like this one. The taste of raspberry really comes through and it’s not that fake berry taste either. The tartness of the raspberry cuts through the sweetness of the chocolate and makes it so good. I wish I had bought more of this. A packet is apparently not too unhealthy either, only 64 calories (as listed on the box).
So that’s it for my mini Kit Kat haul, for now. I’ll definitely continue my hunt for interesting Kit Kats the next time I’m in Japan. I need to find the baked Kit Kat.
