I like playing with make-up but I like my sleep just that little bit more. So when it comes down to putting on makeup before work every morning, I like to keep it as fast as possible and that means products that I don’t have to fiddle with. These are some of the products that I’ve been using most of the time, probably not too interesting, but they work, which is all I’m asking for as I rush to put on my daily face before getting out of the door with not much time left to spare ;p
Laneige BB Cushion in True Beige – This is my latest favourite base. I’m a bit of a foundation whore and own more bases than a normal person needs, but I’ve been using this pretty much every time I put on make up. I’ve been told that this makes me look radiant and that’s good enough for me. It’s sheer, but you can build it to slightly less than medium coverage. I’d usually use my concealer on blemishes and discolourations. It’s not dewy nor matte, but just gives a fresh look to the skin.
NARS Creamy Concealer in Custard – It conceals, it doesn’t make my blemishes look crusty, that’s all I ask for in a concealer.
Nyx Stay Matte not Flat Powder Foundation in Nude – I’ve tried many powders and this one is one that really keeps my face nice and matte for the longest time. Mind, it doesn’t last too many hours, but the longest one so far. Oily t-zone plus living in the tropics equals oil slick of a face.
The Balm Blush in Down Boy – One of my favourite blushes, it just gives that pop of spring to my complexion and it blends so nicely.
Benefit Watts Up – I love the subtle sheen on my cheekbones and I love even more that it’s a dream to blend.
K-Palette 1-day Tattoo Lasting Eyeliner – This is one of the best liquid eyeliners I’ve used and I’ve used many. It lasts even through a hard workout and still ends up looking almost perfect. It’s not a bitch to remove at the end of the day too. It is also an wonderful inky black. The last time I was in Japan, I stocked up on this. The only other eyeliner which I like just as much is the Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner, and that costs twice as much.
Benefit They’re Real Mascara – I didn’t quite believe the hype when it first came out, but once I tried it, i really did like it a lot, and I find the spiky rounded brush end really useful for fluffing out the outside lashes. My alternative mascara is Maybelline’s Falsies (waterproof version). One of the reasons why I love these 2 mascaras is because they keep the curl on my stubborn straight lashes! I want curled lashes opening up my eyes, not curtains covering them!
Makeup Forever Aqua Brows – Another one of those products that I can’t imagine living without because they keep my brows on, again, even through an exercise class.
As much as I love lip colours, I generally just slap on a lip balm and go on my way. When I do have time, I go the whole way with eyeshadow, contouring and lipstick, but most mornings, I’d rather sleep that extra 10 minutes heh.
