On a recent trip to Sephora, I basically spent a shitload of money on cosmetics and skincare, some of which are shown right here (the Maybelline Color Show liners weren’t from Sephora, but bought on the same day). So, I got some free stuff, one of which being the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.
I love this stuff so much that I’ve come out of blogging hibernation to espouse my love for this cream. To anyone who has experienced dry, flaky skin that no moisturiser can get rid off, you have to try this.
Ironically, my skin gets more dehydrated when I’m back on my sunny tropical island than it was in the biting cold of Prague, but it is what it is. It was tight, it was dry and really not feeling good at all, so much so that my beloved Josie Maran Argan Oil wasn’t helping it much. When I got this deluxe sample, I thought, “Oh, this comes in useful,” and it was. The moment I smoothed this on my skin, there was instant relief, the tightness went away and the flakiness instantly went away. No hyperbole there. As beauty bloggers love to say, “my skin loved it”.
Of course, it’s not a miracle worker, the dryness does come back after a couple of hours, but it stays away for a good 8 hours or more, enough to last me through the work day. I have been pretty religious in applying it and my skin is almost back to normal.
What’s even better about this is that it does not contain parabens and other nasties, so that’s a bonus. I do use the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream when things get a bit drastic, but I’m not too fond of it (even though it works) because of the smell and the presence of parabens.
I freaking love this stuff and would be buying a full size of this, maybe not to use as a daily moisturiser, but for when my skin needs the extra help to stay hydrated.
